Excellent knowledge of Italian.
The final exam will be written and will concern course contents. Attending students could discuss a research and this will be 30% of the final grade. The written exam involves exercises of a technical nature (phonetic transcription, morphological and syntactical analysis) and open-ended questions.
The course is divided into different sections: it will start from the framing of Cognitive Linguistics as a functional discipline for the application of linguistic theories in the contexts of learning and public communication, deepening some issues of language education.
In particular, the course will deal with the issues of written communication, the relationship between orality and writing, the sexist uses of the language, insults and communicative competence, also in relation to non-European and Asian languages.
