The student will be able to:
 Identify the most frequent nursing diagnosis in the surgical field
 Develop a nursing assistance care plan for patients undergone surgery using the ICNP® terminology and the Italian model MAPU
 Define the outcomes and apply the nursing interventions related to the most frequent assistance situations considering the guidelines and clinical best practices
 Document and evaluate the different phases and the outcomes of the entire assistance process

 Nursing care of the patient in the peri-operative period, pre intra- and postoperative period
 Nursing care for the patient with postoperative pain
 Nursing care of the patient undergoing blood component transfusion
 Nursing care of the patient undergoing artificial nutrition
 Nursing care of the patient undergoing the following types of surgery: gastrectomy, mastectomy, lobectomy, hemicolectomy and vascular surgery

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The student will be able to:

EVALUATION METHOD
The assessment consists in one of the following options to be chosen by the student:
1) Three partial tests during the annual course
2) Written and oral test at the end of the course
