DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES OF LABORATORY MEDICINE
Basic knowledge of immunology, genetics and physiology
Oral exam aimed at verifying the ability to organize knowledge, the ability to critically reason on the study carried out, the quality of the exposure
Provide the theoretical-practical basis related to the diagnostic tests used in the classification of the main hematological diseases, coagulation disorders, transfusion medicine and in the analysis of non-blood biological samples
The integrated course will focus on the treatment of the following macro-areas in order to describe the various pathological conditions and the diagnostic pathways necessary for their diagnosis:
1) hereditary and acquired platelet disorders/bleeding disorders/thrombophilias
2) main forms of leukemias, lymphomas, anemias
3) The main blood group systems, Direct and indirect Coombs Test
Collection of blood and blood components
Principles of transfusion therapy
4) urinary and stool tests, liquor, body fluids, pregnancy tests
lectures with student involvement in the study and critical analysis of the diagnostic protocols presented
