Human Physiology studies the human vital functions in normal conditions, while General Pathology studies the changes that occur in the case of alterations. These disciplines analyze how the integrated organism can achieve and maintain the homeostasis of its internal environment at the molecular, cellular and tissue levels, in the context of changes in the surrounding environment.

The aim of Life Pathophysiological Foundations course is to provide Students with all the information necessary to understand, from a biophysical-quantitative point of view, the functioning of cells, tissues, organs and integrated systems of the organism, both in physiological and pathological conditions, as well as their control by the central nervous system, the autonomic nervous system and the endocrine system
At the end of the course, Students will be able to describe the fundamental functional parameters that characterize the physiological conditions of cells, tissues and organs, and to analyze the phenomena that lead to possible pathological alterations of the functional parameters, using an appropriate technical language.

The teaching is divided into two modules:
1. Human Physiology
2. General Pathology
