The examination consists of a written interview aimed at ascertaining the acquisition and correct understanding of the course content. Questions will be formulated on the content of each of the main authors and the material on the syllabus with respect to which knowledge of the topic, expository ability and critical analysis ability will be evaluated. The final grade will take into account the accuracy and quality of the answers (60%), as well as the communication skills and ability to adequately justify statements, analysis and judgments shown (40%).
The objective of the course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to communicate effectively through the use of images, graphics and design.
Clear, persuasive and communicative visual messages will be analyzed, developing the ability to read and construct the image in all its dimensions, focusing on visual perception, color theory, typographic fonts, the use of shapes, symbols and icons, and rhetorical figures. Students will study visual design techniques and tools while acquiring critical and creative thinking skills in advertising, branding, and cultural promotion.
The course offers a multidisciplinary approach that focuses on the analysis and interpretation of color in various contexts, including art, design, fashion, psychology and science, building on the theory and importance of color in visual and emotional communication, and on solid scientific and artistic knowledge. You will delve into the history and evolution of design through the leading designer of the 20th century, examining cultural, social and economic influences.
You will study visual communication characterized by the use of geometric shapes, colors and simple, essential compositions, through the use of clear and easily understood visual elements.
The activities will be conducted through face-to-face lectures, in which the lecturer will explain the course content, asking for students' interactive participation through exercises, viewing, listening and commentary
