Requirements: 

- A general culture acquired within a five-year high school course;
- a generic interest in culture in its various social events, from attending museums, exhibitions and conferences, to reading literary and witty works, as well as to the vision of cinemas with significant capacity to represent the world

Final Examination: 
Orale

Learning will be verified by an oral test. The oral exam consists of a presentation of the topics covered within the course and aims to ascertain the candidate's preparation on the texts in question and its ability to give it a critical interpretation. Will be evaluated:
1. the lexical correctness of the exhibition (5 points);
2. the correctness of the conceptual analysis of the texts (10 points);
3. the acquisition of an effective learning methodology (5 points);
4. the critical ability and autonomy of the student (10 points).

The course aims to develop some basic skills as well as some insights into specific aspects of aesthetics related to:
- the aesthetic and philosophical understanding of the world, in the first centuries of the modern age;
- the role of the Jewish diaspora and the Marranos in the construction of the modern subject, from the splitting of the ego to multiple subjectivities;
- the universalization of the world that has become global, through the fluidification of ideologies and individual behaviors projected into an international dimension.
The learning technique includes the exposure and interpretation of a series of classic texts, both literary and specific to aesthetic reflection. These works will be the basis for developing understanding of the processes of building the image of the world, in the spheres of history, arts and literature. Specifically, students will have to demonstrate that they are able to critically analyze and interpret some aesthetic and sociological theories in light of what they have learned during the course.
Will be evaluated:
- the ability to use specific languages of the aesthetic dimension;
- the ways of relationship between aesthetics and the media dimension of knowledge;
- the relationship between the aesthetic dimension and the formation of individual and social subjectivity at the same time.

The course is developed according to three reference teaching and training lines which include:
1. the expulsion of the Jews from Spain and the Marranos;
2. the geographical explorations of the 15th and 16th centuries, the origins of globalization and the Spanish-Portuguese empires;
3. exemplary lives of famous or unknown Marranos, from Teresa of Avila to Baruch Spinoza.

Convenzionale

The activities will be carried out through frontal lessons, in which the lecturer will explain the contents of the course asking for the interactive participation of the students through interventions, questions and reflections, in a tight dialectical comparison between professor and student.
