CURRICULAR TRAINEESHIP
In order to start the curricular internship, the student must have passed all the exams of the first year of the course and be in possession of at least 78 credits.
The verification method envisaged for the curricular internship is simple approval, without the attribution of a vote expressed out of thirty. After having carried out the necessary work agreed with the supervisor for the completion of the thesis project, the student will be able to access the appeal for the registration of the training internship credits envisaged by the teaching regulation of his or her study course, during which he will present the documentation proving that the activity has taken place (declaration of closure of the internship within the University or receipt from the DiSTA Internship Desk in the case of external internship).
The training internship represents the moment in which the student can concretely apply and deepen the knowledge and skills acquired within the course of study.
During the internship the student has the opportunity to improve his/her independent judgment and communication skills, with particular regard to the specific terminology of the discipline chosen for the internship itself. Self-learning and self-evaluation skills are also stimulated and increased.
Depending on the field chosen, the student will gain useful experience for possible continuation of studies or for entering the world of work.
The educational objectives of the internship are specifically reported within an individual training project approved by a specific internship commission, in line with the specific educational objectives of the study course and with the professional opportunities envisaged.
The internship activity is preparatory to the drafting of the thesis that the student will discuss in the final exam.
The training internship can be carried out within the University, in the department of the thesis supervisor, or in external structures affiliated with the University (in this case the student, in addition to a company tutor at the external structure, will also have a teacher who will play the role of university tutor, corresponding to the thesis supervisor).
The indicative duration of the curricular internship for the degree course in Environmental and Natural Sciences is approximately 3 months or at least 225 hours in the case of external internship. However, the actual duration of the internship is agreed with the thesis supervisor.
Practical activities in the field or in the laboratory accompanied by individual and collegial re-elaboration, under the guidance of the reference university tutor, aimed at writing the thesis work.
