DENTAL HYGIENE SCIENCES 1
No requirement is required if not adequate knowledge of the Italian language. There is no provision for prerequisites.
For each discipline, the student must obtain a minimum score of 18/30
The student will have to take a written test and an oral test that will focus on all disciplines.
The test questions will be related to the course program of the I.C. to define the
knowledge and understanding (25%), the ability to apply knowledge and understanding
(25%), independent judgment (15%), communication skills (15%) and learning ability
(20%) in relation to the theoretical and practical bases aimed at providing the student with cognitive tools
necessary for understanding the means and methods of intervention of the different clinical pictures of patients
adults or children; interpersonal skills appropriate to the areas of intervention and within
of the work environment; improvement of the state of health of the oral cavity.
Single final grade for the I.C.
The main objective of the Integrated Course is to provide adequate skills in order to plan the therapeutic process of professional oral hygiene, in its complexity. These skills are defined by the fact that the student learns the terminology, to know the techniques for detecting oral and extra-oral objectivity and to use the methods and tools for detecting such objectivity in relation to dental and gingival pathologies. Once the student has acquired the ability of diagnostic-clinical classification, he develops the ability to identify the major risk factors for oral health in order to structure a personalized treatment plan. In this phase of his training he acquires knowledge of the diagnostic and / or therapeutic process of his competence, so as to select the instrumental procedure and the techniques suitable for each patient, according to the best possible scientific evidence. Consequently, the student acquires diagnostic-clinical classification skills based on anamnestic evaluation, individual risk that takes into account specific differences, subjective capacities, gender and age. Already from the first year of the course, it is considered important to give a specific orientation regarding the legal framework of the profession, relations with public and private entities, the elaboration of organizational protocols of the operation in relation to the various objectives to be achieved, job analysis and overall management of the profession. The training objectives of the course will be achieved through lectures and through application practice lessons. Given the characteristics of the course, in which elements of theory and application practice are intertwined, attendance at lessons is strongly recommended.
PROFESSIONAL ORAL HYGIENE TECHNIQUES 1
The acquisition of the various skills and knowledge will develop along the whole course during which the following topics will be treated:
a) Plaque detector substances;
b) Mechanical ablation of tartar with sonic and ultrasonic devices;
c) Manual instruments;
d) Polishing and air-flow;
e) Classification of discolorations;
f) Fluoride prophylaxis;
g) Positioning at the seat with practical training.
TECHNIQUES OF SEMIOTICS AND MONITORING OF THE ORAL CAVITY
The course will cover topics concerning the detection of objectivity of intra and extra-oral hearing:
Personal, medicale and dental history.
Examination extra and intra-oral mode of execution.
Diagnostic indexes: simple and cumulative selection criteria of an index, DMFT, RCI, SCI, periodontal indices, indices that assess the degree of oral hygiene indices need for treatment.
Radiographic documentation: required for radiological assessment of periodontal and dental status.
Photographs: indications and methods of collection of photographic documentation.
Study Models: indications and methods of collection of study models.

PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION AND ERGONOMICS
During the course, all the legal references of the professional dental hygienist are treated, as well as ethical and deontological.
In order to make independent student, once graduated, we analyze the best integration between labor, employer and work environment to improve efficiency of work itself.
It analyzes the business models of the profession and develop operational protocols of the organization in relation to the various objectives and according to various reports of work that you may have with public bodies, companies and depriving dell'oral care facilities.
Moreover, those that are examined are the administrative and management models of the study freelance work accordance with applicable law.
