ANAESTHESIOLOGY
Prerequisites are those provided by the Bachelor''''''''s degree program. In order to be able to take advantage of the course, the student should have a solid knowledge of physiopathology, clinic and diagnostics of major medical and surgical pathologies and adequate knowledge of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the main drugs used in emergency settings.
Students will acquire the theoretical knowledge and behavioral principles in clinical emergencies, diagnostic-therapeutic pathways centered on guidelines. They will be able to understand the critical-ill patient menaging in intensive care unit, during mechanical ventilation and respiratory, cardiocirculatory and cerebral monitoring. They will learn the fundamentals of anesthesiological practice in the operating room. They will get the theoretical foundations of specialistic Intensive Care (cardiac and neurointensive ones).
Critical-ill definition and clinical approach; Organ disfunctions and shock; Cardiac Arrest; Extracorporeal Life Support. Life threatining Medical and surgical emergencies and their hospital and pre-hospital menagement. Major Trauma. Neurointensive care (haemorragic and ischeamic stroke; Traumatic Brain injury). Anesthesiology foundaments; cerebral death and organ donation.
