We require in-depth knowledge of the philosophy of law in order to have a full understanding of the issues relating to legal informatics.
The procedure for verifying learning comprises an oral examination with a final score out of 30, based on the entire programme, carried out in the reverse cone manner: a general question, whilst the following ones are more targeted and, in turn, open the way to greater analysis.
Specifically, the following shall be assessed: the ability to relate the contents of the programme in a manner which is appropriate to the specific nature of the material covered and in accordance with proper logical and systemic canons, the ability to interrelate the various features of criminal law and to argue a point and technical and expressive capabilities.
The aim of the course is to offer a systematic overview of the principles, structures, applied mechanisms of legal informatics and an outline of the most important supranational information.
The course sets out to address the main themes in legal informatics and IT law (open source, legal-tech and legal design, privacy and IT security, IT crimes and digital forensics). An additional aim, but one which is no less important, is to offer students some elementary technical and IT notions; these represent knowledge capital which has now become essential for jurists entering the world of work.
