The student needs to have met the requirements as established by the Subjects Guide of the Course of Studies.
At the end of the course the student has to take a written exam. The candidate will be examined on the topics related to the syllabus of the integrated course. Not only will the candidate’s knowledge and learning
ability be evaluated, but also his/her independence of judgement and communication skills will be assessed in regard to the fundamental principles of Clinical Odontostomatology.
The aim of the course is to deal with the main oral manifestations related to complex and multiple organ diseases, especially those linked to skin disorders.
Students will be provided with the latest information about the most updated diagnostic-therapeutic protocols to adopt treating patients on bone antiresorptive drugs. An in-depth study of the different clinical manifestations of orofacial pain will also allow students to acquire the ability to distinguish between the pain of odontogenic origin and the presentations of more complex psychosomatic syndromes.
1) Pulp diseases;
2) Maxillary cysts and osteomyelitis;
3) odontogenic and non-odontogenic neoplasms;
4) Salivary glands disorders;
5) Osteonecrosis related to bisphosphonates and bone antiresorptive agents;
6) Immunologic disorders of the oral cavity
The slides used during the lessons will be available to the students at the end of the course.
