PROFESSIONAL ORAL HYGIENE TECHNIQUES 1
It is envisaged that the admitted students have adequate knowledge of Italian language and a high school level preparation in physics, chemistry and biology. There is no provision for prerequisites.
TECHNIQUES OF SEMIOTICS AND MONITORING OF THE ORAL CAVITY
No requirement is required if not adequate knowledge of the Italian language. There is no provision for prerequisites.
DOMICILIARY ORAL HYGIENE TECHNIQUES
No specific scientific or biological knowledge is required beyond those provided by the high school, however, the 1st semester courses and parallel of the integrated course will provide the student with the skills to deal with the subjects of the course. There is no provision for prerequisites.
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION AND ERGONOMICS
No requirement is required if not adequate knowledge of the Italian language. There is no provision for prerequisites.

PROFESSIONAL ORAL HYGIENE TECHNIQUES 1
Main target of the teaching is to deliver adequate competences about the therapeutic procedures of professional oral hygiene. It is expected that the student has acquired the following skills at the end of the university course:

• Knowledge of the diagnostic process;
• Ability to select the methodology and technique suitable for the specific clinical case and the right mechanical tools following the best available scientific practices in relation to the removal of soft or mineralized deposits and to the elimination of the exogenous pigments and the use of various devices to prevent, to control and to solve a certain dental pathology.

TECHNIQUES OF SEMIOTICS AND MONITORING OF THE ORAL CAVITY
The student learns the techniques and their effectiveness and to use the methods and means of detection of objectivity in relation to oral diseases and dental gum. The educational objectives of the course will be achieved through lectures
DOMICILIARY ORAL HYGIENE TECHNIQUES
The objectives of the teaching are to gain knowledge of the anatomy and the specific terminology of the oral cavity. To be able to locate the correct oral hygiene intervention on the individual. Have a great overview on all home oral hygiene tutors to educate the different types of patients. To plan health education interventions in particular regarding food hygiene.

At the end of the course the student must have acquired the following skills:
1) learn a vocabulary and a specific language of the oral cavity, have basic knowledge of common dental pathologies and basic knowledge of periodontal disease.
2) learn communication techniques, motivation and patient education to control and remove oral bacterial plaque in order to prevent, reduce, and manage or-dental pathologies in different clinical frameworks.
3) design the educational interventions to be undertaken and provide guidance on the correct lifestyles.
4) know the oral home hygiene devices and be able to advise the most suitable for patients in the adge of development, adults and special needs.
5) analyze, design, discuss and plan treatment plans on some clinical cases taken
exam.
The training objectives of the course will be achieved through frontal lessons for a total of 24 hours, given by the lecturer in the course, which will devote each lesson to clarification and insights. Practical exercises will be performed on didactic models in order to put into practice the techniques acquired.
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION AND ERGONOMICS
The student learns to orient themselves with respect for the legal profession, relations with public and private development of organizational protocols of operations in relation to various objectives, an analysis of work and the overall management of the profession.

The acquisition of the various skills and knowledge will develop along the whole course during which the following topics will be treated:
a) Plaque detector substances;
b) Mechanical ablation of tartar with sonic and ultrasonic devices;
c) Manual instruments;
d) Polishing and air-flow;
e) Classification of discolorations;
f) Fluoride prophylaxis;
g) Positioning at the seat with practical training.
TECHNIQUES OF SEMIOTICS AND MONITORING OF THE ORAL CAVITY
The course will cover topics concerning the detection of objectivity of intra and extra-oral hearing:
Personal, medicale and dental history.
Examination extra and intra-oral mode of execution.
Diagnostic indexes: simple and cumulative selection criteria of an index, DMFT, RCI, SCI, periodontal indices, indices that assess the degree of oral hygiene indices need for treatment.
Radiographic documentation: required for radiological assessment of periodontal and dental status.
Photographs: indications and methods of collection of photographic documentation.
Study Models: indications and methods of collection of study models.

During the course, all the legal references of the professional dental hygienist are treated, as well as ethical and deontological.
In order to make independent student, once graduated, we analyze the best integration between labor, employer and work environment to improve efficiency of work itself.
It analyzes the business models of the profession and develop operational protocols of the organization in relation to the various objectives and according to various reports of work that you may have with public bodies, companies and depriving dell'oral care facilities.

The educational goals of the course will be achieved by means of room lesson for a total of 14 hours and by means of manual practice lessons for a total of 22 hours. Attendance at all lessons is strongly recommended taking into consideration the characteristics of this course where theory and application practices are heavily integrated.
