The course aims to provide students with the tools for understanding the European Union law applicable to the company and the relevant European policies for the activities of the industrial and business sector.
- The first four lectures will be dedicated to the analysis of major European institutional players: the European Council, EU Council, European Parliament, European Commission, Court of Justice, European Central Bank and the Court of Auditors. The course will highlight the institutional competencies and their role in the European architecture, as well as the EU's fundamental principles that are the foundation of the work itself.
- The fifth lesson will present the Union acts and legislative procedures for their adoption.
- The sixth lecture will be introduced the four fundamental freedoms (free movement goods, capital, people and services) as inputs for the enterprise.
- The seventh lesson in the free movement of goods will be analyzed the prohibition of customs duties and of charges having equivalent effect.
- The eighth and the ninth lesson will be devoted to the examination of the free movement of persons, with particular attention to the free movement of professionals also with reference to the agreements between the European Union and Switzerland. This will also involve the free movement of persons and immigration policy.
- The tenth lesson will explore the question of freedom of establishment.
- The eleventh lecture will be devoted to the freedom to provide services.
- The twelfth lesson is the common commercial policy. Starting from an analysis of international actors (WTO, EU, etc.) and their impact on the functioning of the enterprise, it will deepen the evolution of the common market until the creation of the single market and economic integration, as well as the Union's position in the international context.
- The thirteenth lecture will provide evidence about the European Neighbourhood Policy.
- The fourteenth lesson will conclude with an analysis of civil and criminal judicial cooperation policies.
