At the end of the course the student must be familiar with the most frequent infectious diseases in dentistry and on the epidemiology and prevention of health care associated infections
Routes of trasmission of infectious agents. Infective endocarditis. Acute and chronic viral hepatitis: HAV, HBV, HCV, HDV, HEV. HIV infection: epidemiology, clinical manifestations and diagnosis; opportunistic infections. Odontogenic and non-odontogenic infections.Tuberculosis. Nosocomial infections: epidemiology and preventions of the health care associated infections and infection control in dental health-care settings. Occupational exposure risk, prevention rules and post-exposure prophylaxis. Global health: health determinants, health system, health and immigration
